The National Security Council Secretariat of India (NSCS) hosted the 4th Meeting of the BIMSTEC Expert Group on Maritime Security Cooperation, in New Delhi, on 25 November 2025. The Expert Group finalised the “Draft BIMSTEC Guiding Principles on the Conduct of Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies (MLEAs) during Interaction at Sea” and the “Draft BIMSTEC Guidelines for Coordinated Marine Oil Spill Response in the Bay of Bengal”. It also agreed on convening the 1st BIMSTEC Maritime Security Exercise in 2nd half of 2026.
