SECRETARIAT OF THE BAY OF BENGAL INITIATIVE FOR MULTI-SECTORAL TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION DHAKA, BANGLADESH

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Applications are invited from eligible Bangladeshi nationals for the following positions at the BIMSTEC Secretariat in Dhaka, Bangladesh:

 

1. Office Assistant (Accounts)

  1. Number of Post: 01   

General Services Staff (Category-III) 

 

Key Responsibility:

  • Assist in maintaining basic financial records, registers, and files
  • Support preparation of vouchers, bills, and payment document
  • Perform data entry and update financial information as required
  • Maintain proper filing and organization of financial documents
  • Assist in bank-related tasks such as cheque handling and document preparation
  • Support preparation of simple financial reports and statements
  • Check supporting documents for completeness before submission
  • Provide support during audits and internal reviews
  • Carry out general office and clerical tasks related to accounts 
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Finance Division
     

Qualification:

 

  • Candidates with basic training or coursework in Accounting or Finance will be preferred
  • Basic understanding of accounting procedures
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic communication skills in English and Bangla
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a team
     

Education:  Minimum Bachelor or equivalent in Accounts/Finance from public/ private (University Grants Commission approved) University of Bangladesh.

 

3. Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounts and finance office support is preferred
  • Fresh candidates with basic accounting knowledge may also be considered
  • Experience in working at International Organization/Diplomatic Mission will get preference

 

4. Computer Literacy: Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Excel & PowerPoint

 

5. Age Limit: Below 35 years

 

6. Both males and females can apply

 

7. Remunerations: Remunerations will be provided under the GSS-III Basic Salary Scale (US$ 364-9X7-427-EB-11X11-548) and other admissible benefits according to the Financial Rules, Regulations and Provisions of the BIMSTEC Secretariat.
 

8. Deadline for the Applications: 12 May 2026

 

09. Expected date for entry on duty: 15 June 2026

 

10. Type of Appointment:

i.    Contractual basis (contract renewable based on annual performance appraisal and the discretion of the BIMSTEC Secretary General)
ii.    Selected candidate will be on a mandatory probation for period of 01 Year starting from the date of their joining the Secretariat
iii.    Selected candidate is required to continue working for the Secretariat for a minimum of three years
 

11. Duty Station: Dhaka, Bangladesh

2. Office Assistant (Administration) 

  1. Number of Post: 01

       General Services Staff (Category-III) 

 

Key Responsibility:

 

  • Assist the Director of Administration division in drafting necessary documents as and when necessary
  • Perform any duties given by the Concern Director, the Secretary General’s Office and Administration
  • Assist in regular maintenance work of the Secretariat
  • Perform other administrative support duties as and when necessary, including sorting files, filing documents, applying requisition etc
  • Perform general clerical duties such as Printing, Scanning, and Photocopying 
  • Assist guests from Ministry, Embassy, and Hotels etc at the office premise
  • Assist and support in the front desk operation during lunch or any other breaks or in absence of the Receptionist by responding incoming calls, welcoming guests etc
  • Ensure the office environment is tidy and organized
  • Work in team with harmony
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the authority as and when necessary

Qualification:

  • 2+ years of experience in Office Assistance/relevant roles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, Strong organizational and time-management skills 
     

Education:
