The 4th Meeting of the BIMSTEC Sub-Group on Human Trafficking was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 11–12 June 2026. It reviewed progress made since the previous meeting and discussed key initiatives, including establishment of the BIMSTEC Digital Platform on Human Trafficking and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on Assistance and Repatriation of Victims of Human Trafficking. It also deliberated on the evolving trends and emerging challenges in trafficking in persons and reiterated the necessity of enhanced regional cooperation and coordinated action to effectively combat this important transnational issue.
