The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Myanmar organized a virtual Knowledge Sharing Program on Aquatic Animal Disease Management in the BIMSTEC member States on 24 September 2026. It brought together government representatives from the BIMSTEC member States to exchange information and good practices on aquatic animal disease surveillance system, monitoring and reporting procedures, laboratory capacity and rapid response protocols. Participants also explored the establishment of a regional Laboratory and Expertise Network on aquatic animal disease management to facilitate the exchange of technical knowledge and expertise and support coordinated efforts to prevent, detect and respond to aquatic animal disease outbreaks.
