The 2nd Meeting of the BIMSTEC Expert Group on Tourism was held in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 17-18 January 2024 with the participation of representatives from all Member States. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Gobinda Bahadur Karkee, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal, which is the Lead Member State in BIMSTEC for People-to-People Contact.
The Meeting discussed and finalized the updated draft Plan of Action on Tourism and also made important decisions regarding the operationalisation of the Virtual BIMSTEC Tourism Information Center and BIMSTEC Tourism Fund among others.
