Secretary General expresses appreciation for Nepal’s contribution to advancing the BIMSTEC process”


The Secretary General of BIMSTEC, Tenzin Lekphell, who is on an introductory visit to Nepal at present, called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Dr. Narayan Khadka, and several other Ministers and Government Officials on 04 January 2022, during which matters such as trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people contact as well as broader issues of Nepal-BIMSTEC cooperation were discussed. Stating that the 4th BIMSTEC Summit held in Kathmandu in 2018 was an important milestone in streamlining the areas of cooperation and strengthening the institutional framework of the Organisation, the Secretary General appreciated Nepal’s contribution to advancing the BIMSTEC process.
 
The Secretary General’s courtesy calls and meetings on 04 January included the Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale, Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal and Secretary Commerce and Supplies Dinesh Bhattarai.
