The First Meeting of the BIMSTEC Expert Group on Disaster Management Cooperation was held virtually in New Delhi on 12 May 2022, with the participation of representatives from all BIMSTEC member states. Decisions arrived at included the development of the BIMSTEC Plan of Action to improve Preparedness and Coordination for responding to Natural Disasters in the Bay of Bengal Region.
