To mark the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of BIMSTEC, the 1st BIMSTEC Film Festival was held in BIMSTEC Secretariat, Dhaka from 22nd to 26th July 2017. The Festival has been inaugurated on 22nd July in a ceremony held at the Secretariat wherein the Hon’ble Information Minister, Government of the Bangladesh, H.E. Hasanul Haq Inu, MP and the Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Government of Bangladesh, H.E. Md. Shahriar Alam, MP have graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Special Guest respectively. The programme was attended to by the Heads/representatives of Missions of the Member States in Dhaka and also by Heads/representatives of other Missions in Dhaka besides other eminent persons. The Festival is a step towards furtherance of BIMSTEC’s efforts towards promotion of people-to-people contact and cultural integration within the region.
