Secretary General participated in Jakarta Futures Forum: Blue Horizons, Green Growth


Secretary General of BIMSTEC, H.E. Indra Mani Pandey, participated at the "Jakarta Futures Forum: Blue Horizon, Green Growth" organised by the Observer Research Foundation and the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), with the support of the Embassy of India, in  Jakarta, Indonesia, on 02-03 May 2024.

 

At the Forum, Secretary General delivered a Keynote Address at Panel Discussion: “International Cooperation for Facilitating A Just and Inclusive Energy Transition”. He also delivered a Keynote Address, at the Working Lunch on “ASEAN-BIMSTEC Collaboration and Cross Learnings”.

 

Besides, Secretary General met withthe following dignitaries and discussed with them the possible future collaboration between the BIMSTEC and ASEAN:

 

H.E. Ekkaphab Phanthavong, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community;

H.E. Satvinder Singh, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community;

H.E. Amb. Bovonethat DOUANGCHAK, Permanent Representative of the Lao PDR to ASEAN and  the Chair of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR);

H.E. Amb. Aung Myo Myint, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN;

H.E. Amb. PhantiphaIamsudha Ekarohit, Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN;

 

BIMSTEC comprises seven countries of the Bay of Bengal region: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. It pursues regional cooperation in the following seven sectors: Agriculture and Food Security; Connectivity; Environment and Climate Change; People to People Contact; Science, Technology and Innovation; Security; and Trade, Investment and Development.
