The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, in collaboration with the BIMSTEC Secretariat, organized a two-day BIMSTEC Regional Consultation on the Global Digital Compact (GDC) in Dhaka, on 22-23 June 2024. This was the first consultation amongst the BIMSTEC member States on the GDC.
The two-day consultation included five technical sessions where BIMSTEC member States discussed priorities concerning five key GDC objectives, leveraging the region’s collaborations and efforts to ensure a secure digital environment, and promote sustainable technological advancement.
