The 2nd Meeting of the Governing Board (GB) and the 2nd Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) of BIMSTEC Centre for Weather and Climate (BCWC) were held at National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), Noida, India on November 1-2, 2022. Delegations from all BIMSTEC member states attended. The GB reviewed the draft ‘Host Country Agreement’ for establishing the BCWC while the SAC made several recommendations to improve interactions in matters pertaining to weather and climate in the Bay of Bengal Region. Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences of India delivered the Keynote address. Mr. Rudrendra Tandon, Additional Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs of India, thanked GB Members of BCWC for their concerted efforts to revive the activities of the centre. On behalf of the Secretary General of BIMSTEC, Mr. Naresh Kumar, Director of the BIMSTEC Secretariat delivered Special Remarks.
