The First Meeting of BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs held in New Delhi, India on 21 March 2017 decided to establish a Track 1.5 BIMSTEC Security Dialogue Forum to promote and encourage security dialogue among BIMSTEC strategic community.
The Track 1.5 BIMSTEC Security Dialogue Forum met three times and discussed on various themes covering non-traditional security threats in the Bay of Bengal region. The meetings put sets of recommendations to combat non-traditional security threats among BIMSTEC Member States.
